Meet Anna
(And Denzel the Staffy!)
Hello! I’m Anna, the founder of Denzel's Dog Training, named after my Staffy, Denzel.
My path into dog training began some years ago with Denzel - my own untrained, dog reactive, rescue dog. Trainers I hired were not helpful and one did not seem to like people much! I had to teach myself what worked for my dog and I developed a passion for understanding canine behaviour and helping dog owners form deeper, and better relationships with their companion dogs.
I’m a qualified dog trainer and canine behaviourist and will help you make life easier by providing you with clearly focused, practical training that actually works!
My Background
Before pursuing dog training full-time, I worked in theatre as a workshop leader, director, and performer. My experience working with diverse groups – from homeless individuals to prison inmates, students, and professionals – has provided me with valuable skills in communication, body language, confidence-building, coaching, and leadership. These skills are not only crucial for successful dog training but also help me coach dog owners with empathy, patience, and clarity.
My formerly reactive and untrained rescue Staffy, Denzel is now a registered Pets as Therapy Dog, and I couldn’t be prouder of his progress. My business is named in his honour, and our slogan, Way of the Good Boi, reflects the journey we’ve been on together – helping dogs grow into confident, balanced, human companions.
